Hire a Kayak

Interested in paddling?

Do you want to go for a paddle but don’t yet own your own kayak? Then come in and hire a boat?. We have a choice of sit in kayaks and sit on tops.

Rates

Cost of hire is $50 per day per boat, includes paddle and PFD Personal Flotation Device which must be worn. (Spraycover and helmet available if needed)

Collection

Boats to be hired are collected from the shop address and all customers are offered free advice on suitable kayaking areas. Payment of hire fees will occur before goods are taken from the premises, and customers accept, upon payment of the fees, the conditions listed here.

Conditions

All craft and gear is maintained at a suitable and safe standard. Customers accept that craft and gear be returned in the same condition, clean and undamaged, and that goods not fitting this description may incur a further cleaning and maintenance charge. Other charges are listed under Liability deposit heading. Kayak Sports do not accept any liability for unsuitable use of craft or gear, nor do they accept liability for any use of craft or gear beyond the hirers capability.

The hire fee includes craft, paddles, PFD personal floatation device which must be worn, (spraycover and helmet if needed).

Liability Deposit

A Credit Card is required as a liability deposit for all hires. The information must be left upon collection of hire equipment, regardless of the length of hire period.  All payments must be made in full before gear is taken.  The onus is on the hirer to treat all craft and accessories with respect and responsibility.  Damage and/or loss of goods will be assessed upon return and the appropriate amount deducted from the Credit card.  Should the equipment not be returned due to loss or sustain severe damage the hirer must pay full replacement costs.  A Drivers Licence is also required for presntation prior to goods leaving the premisis. 

SAFETY HINTS

  • Paddle with a friend
  • Always wear your PFD (buoyancy vest) when in a boat
  • Always inspect rough water areas before-hand
  • Wear sensible clothing according to the season Wear Sturdy footwear such as neoprene boots or runners
  • Do not paddle in waters above your standard
  • Lift, do not drag craft over roads, footpaths, rocks and gravel areas
  • Research your trip before you go!
