Sit on top surf kayaks

The simplest way to get involved in surf kayaking is with a sit on top kayak. However not all kayaks are designed with surf in mind. When choosing a sit on top kayak for the surf look for a flat hull, wide raised bow and a tapered stern. These three features will allow you to manoevour  on a wave.

Safety in the surf is paramount so we recommend a surf kayak course (see instruction). Also you should wear a suitable pfd and a helmet.
